SEO Malta SERP Experiment - Geo Ranking Factors

Hello all and sorry for the long delays between posts.

So just to let you know that our offsite blog experiment project (this blog) is going well, and we’re firmly onto the front page for “SEO Malta” in less than 2 months, and with only a handful of relevant links.

This mini-site was built in 30 minutes by the sbs sniper team to rank specifically for the phrase “SEO Malta”, to compare www.seo-malta.com a US hosted .com, targeted to “Malta” in Google Webmaster Tools, against an established .com.mt domain, hosted in Malta.

The seo-malta site is also PR3 and has considerably more linkstrength than this brand new mini-sniper site, which is showing a grand total of 3 external links.

I think we can fairly safely say that local subdomain tlds and local hosting (along with a healthy dose of Maltese ranking authority) gives significantly better results than relying on Google’s geo targeting.

There are still valid seo sites 5 pages back in this search and yet this sniper site was on the first page in less than 2 months.
